Introduction to kidney transplant waiting process: The doctor had informed me that I have uremia and need to receive a kidney transplant. Now I need to be registered and put on the appointment waiting list of the kidney transplant in China, waiting for the allocation of kidney organ. The attending doctor has comprehensively evaluated the patient's past and current status, mental state, and economic situation, and diagnosed that the patient needed a kidney transplant. The attending doctor will register the patient in the national organ allocation system, include the patient in the waiting list for kidney transplant, and formally wait for the organ distribution. When a suitable organ appears, the system will search for a match among the registered waiting list in accordance with the relevant provisions of the national organ allocation policy, according to the bio-matching degree of the donor and the waiter (such as blood type matching, HLA pairing), waiting time and other factors, then a matching list with a sequence is formed. When the transplant hospital receives a notification of organ allocation, the transplant doctor will conduct a medical evaluation of the patient again, and the final decision on organ allocation is still made by the transplant doctor and the waiting patient. |

The doctor has told me that a kidney transplant is the most thorough treatment available for patients with end-stage kidney failure. There are many patients waiting for kidney transplant in China, and there is a shortage of supplies. In order to save more patients and improve the utilization rate of organs, the national policy stipulates that patients should be identified by the comprehensive scoring that combines the factors such as waiting time of patients on the waiting list, the HLA match between the donor and the waiting person, the age of donation, the PRA value of the waiting person, and the donation status of immediate relatives, spouses and collateral relatives up to three generations, and so on. The doctor told me the following, and if I have a special question, I can discuss it with my doctor. = My doctor has given me the information I need to get on the waiting list. = I have understood and agreed to register and line up on the National Organ Distribution System, waiting for the distribution of organs. = I agree to provide accurate and fluent mobile phone numbers for receiving notifications from doctors and national organ distribution systems. = I have understood and agreed to the necessary checks before joining the waiting list. = I have understood that the length of waiting time is not the only basis for organ matching, due to other factors, such as the HLA match between the donor and the waiting person, the age of donation, the PRA value of the waiting person, and the donation status of immediate relatives, spouses and collateral relatives up to three generations, these may lead to other patients who have a shorter wait time than me getting their organs first. = I understand that after receiving organs through the distribution system, it is still up to me and my transplant doctor to decide whether to accept the organs or not. = I have understood that I need to wait patiently for the transplant to perform the transplant. = I wasn't promised 100 percent success of getting an organ. |
